Man charged for getting another to take traffic rap

Chandiramani Haresh Vishindas, a 40-year-old property agent.

A 40-year-old property agent was charged in court on Tuesday for allegedly perverting the course of justice, by getting another man to take the rap for a driving offence.

Chandiramani Haresh Vishindas got Azli Mohd Hasan, a 36-year-old chauffer, to take the blame for driving on the road shoulder in Sept 2009, The Straits Times (ST) reported.

Vishindas also faces another charge for offering $200 to a Mr Tan Yew Chye as a reward to take the rap, ST said. A pre-trial conference for his case has been set for March 29.

For assuming Vishindas’ criminal liability, Azli was charged with a similar offence.  He will appear in court on Dec 27 so he can engage a lawyer.
