Britain buys 100 Singapore-made armoured vehicles

A HUNDRED made-in-Singapore armoured vehicles have been ordered up by Britain's Ministry of Defence (MOD), and will head into harm's way in Afghanistan.

Singapore Technologies Kinetics' Broncos, to be modified and renamed Warthogs, will be an all-terrain terror with the British forces - operating in water and on land.

They can climb sleep gradients, tackle vertical obstacles and roll across trenches - while carrying up to 14 soldiers.

The Warthog will come in four variants: a troop carrier, an ambulance, a command vehicle and a repair-and-recovery vehicle.
