Raikkonen edges Hamilton in final practice for European GP

NUERBURGRING, Germany (AP) -- Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen edged Formula One championship leader Lewis Hamilton in the final practice Saturday for the European Grand Prix.

Raikkonen, who is coming off two consecutive wins, drove the fastest lap on the 5.1-kilometer (3.2-mile) Nuerburgring circuit in 1 minute, 31.396 seconds. Hamilton was .231 seconds behind in his McLaren.

Qualifying for Sunday's 60-lap race is later Saturday.

Fernando Alonso, the two-time defending champion who trails McLaren teammate Hamilton by 12 points after nine of 17 races, was third in 1:32.039.

Robert Kubica was fourth in a BMW-Sauber, ahead of the second Ferrari driven by Felipe Massa.
