LONDON, ENGLAND - Three teenagers arrested following the stabbing to death of a 15-year-old boy in south London have been released on bailed, the Metropolitan Police said on Sunday.
Peckham teenager Lyle Tulloch was assaulted in a stairwell at a block of flats and after the arrival of the London Ambulance Service and an air ambulance was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem revealed Tulloch died from stab wounds and haemorrhaging.
Police arrested four boys - one 15 and 16-year-old and two 17-year-olds - near the stabbing but have now released one of the 17-year-olds, while the other three teenagers have been bailed to return on dates in June to a London police station.
Newly-elected London mayor Boris Johnson referred to Tulloch's death in a speech on Saturday after signing the declaration of acceptance of office.
'I do think it is time that we led the fightback against this dreadful scourge that is the tip of an iceberg of a problem that we face across London,' said Mr Johnson, London's first Conservative mayor.
'This problem of kids growing up without boundaries, of getting lost in tragic, catastrophic, self-destructive choices is the number one issue that we face in this city. -- REUTERS
