7 shot in Harlem, hunt is on for suspects in NYC

NEW YORK, US - POLICE say seven people have been shot near a busy intersection in New York City, and at least one victim has been critically injured.

Police are searching for suspects.

The shooting happened on Monday night along a six-block section in the Harlem neighbourhood as residents returned to the city after the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

Authorities have flooded the area and blocked off streets as they search for suspects. Residents have been told to go inside their homes.

It is not known yet what motivated the shooting.
