Suicide blast kills NATO soldier, Afghan child: governor

Afghanistan - A suicide attacker in police uniform blew himself up inside a provincial police headquarters in Afghanistan Monday, killing a foreign soldier and a child, a governor said.

The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force could not immediately confirm the attack in the northern province of Baghlan.

"One foreign soldier and a child were killed in the incident," provincial governor Abdul Jabar Haqbine told AFP.

The child was the son of a cleaner working for the police headquarters, he said.

Baghlan sees little of the Taliban-led violence plaguing Afghanistan, which has been hit by a wave of suicide bombings in the past three years.
