TEHRAN - Iran's election watchdog the Guardians Council has ruled out annulling the results of the disputed presidential election, English-language state television Press TV reported on Tuesday.

'In the recent presidential election we witnessed no major fraud or breach. Therefore, there is no possibility of an annulment taking place,' council spokesman Abbasali Kadkhodai was quoted as saying.

The opposition has been staging mass demonstrations over the June 12 vote that returned Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to power, complaining of hundreds of irregularities.
