Taiwan stocks open lower after U.S. jobs report

TAIPEI, Taiwan- Taiwan stocks opened 0.52 percent lower on Friday following a bleak job report from the United States, dragging down tech shares such as UMC UMC.N .

The main TAIEX share index opened 34.55 points lower at 6,632.98.

United Microelectronics Corp fell 1.77 percent, while the broader electronics sub-index fell 0.76 percent. -Reuters
