LONDON, UK - The Conservatives would reverse UK government plans to make the BBC share 130 million pounds (S$296.1 million) of the television licence fee with other broadcasters, the shadow culture secretary told the Financial Times.
The opposition party would also scrap a 50 pence a month tax on all telephone lines, which aims to raise 175 million pounds a year to help pay for the roll out of superfast broadband, "as soon as possible" after the election, Jeremy Hunt said in an interview with the paper.
Both measures are part of the Digital Britain agenda that the Labour government hopes to sign into law before a general election next year.
