
A consignment of drugs consisting Ice and Ecstasy worth more than $170,600 were seized at the Woodlands Checkpoint on Tuesday afternoon.
The drugs were meant for the domestic market.
Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers stopped a 27-year-old Malay Singaporean in a Singapore register vehicle for checks at 5.30pm.
His 54-year-old mother and 24-year-old girlfriend were also in the same vehicle.
CNB officers found a black pouch containing two improvised glass pipes, ziplock bags and a weighing scale, in the centre console between the driver seat and front passenger seat.
A detergent box was also found in the car boot. It was tampered with to conceal three bundles of crystalline substances weighing about 554 grammes and believed to be Ice, and two packets containing a total of 100 tablets believed to be Ecstasy.
A staples box containing 4 grammes of Ice was found concealed in the man's underwear.
The man is being investigated for drug importation. If convicted, he may face the death penalty. The two women are also being investigated for their involvement in the case.
