A teenager and her 17-year-old boyfriend were believed to have killed the girl's mother who had objected to their relationship.
Apparently, they dumped the body on Monday and by Thursday, they were detained by Bhadrakali police, Makkal Osai reported.
The body of Gurvinder Kaur, 40, from Naushik, North India, was discovered on Thursday morning.
Police said that the teenagers had met while they were studying at the same college.
However, the mother of the 16-year-old girl was against the relationship.
On July 1, the mother and daughter had a quarrel over the matter.
Subsequently, the girl was believed to have told her boyfriend about the fight.
On Monday morning, the boyfriend came to the girl's house armed with a knife.
Police said that an argument broke out and the boyfriend attacked Gurvinder with a knife while her daughter suffocated her by pressing a pillow on her face.
They then put the body in a car and dumped it elsewhere.
The body was found after the duo confessed to their crime.
