6,100 likes for lesbians who tied the knot

JOHOR BARU: A Facebook fan page of a lesbian couple who went through a traditional wedding ceremony in Batu Pahat here has hit more than 6,100 "likes" from supporters.

Many congratulated Thomas, 29, and Apple, 27, who underwent a traditional Chinese tea ceremony last Saturday.

"I wish my family would accept my girlfriend so that we, too, can get married one day," stated Facebook user Tan Mei Qi.

Tan also commented that she would like to see Thomas and Apple take their union to the next level by asking for their families' blessing.

She said the couple was an inspiration to her, adding that she would not give up on her own lesbian relationship.

Another Facebook user Oscar Ng posted that she wished her former girlfriend had not given up on their relationship.

"If only she had persevered. We would have been married by now as well," she said.

Another user Matt Ray simply commented "long live gay and lesbian relationships!" on the fan page wall.

Hundreds of congratulatory comments were also seen on the couple's fan page.

The couple, however, declined to comment when contacted.

It was previously reported that Thomas and Apple, both property brokers, had been in a lesbian relationship for more than two years.

The couple then underwent the traditional wedding ceremony and even set up the fan page as a testament of their love for each other.
