Former Member of Parliament Chng Hee Kok has been fined the maximum $5,000 for an offence under the Companies Act.
'I was shocked when the investigations started,' Chng told The Straits Times. ? But as investigations wore on, it dawned on him that he had committed an offence under the Companies Act.
Chng, who is also chief executive of NTUC Club, faced charges for failing to disclose his interest in Stoval Technologies, one of the four companies linked to NTUC Club.
The club's general manager, Shirley Lee Lai Ngoh, was also handed the same fine for a similar offence.
According to NTUC Club, Chng will continue to serve as the chief executive.
