Apply for secondary school online
Wed, Nov 21, 2007
The Straits Times

PARENTS of Primary 6 pupils applying for secondary schools for their children from Thursday will be able to do so online.

The new Internet service will also allow them to check their children's secondary school posting online.

The Education Ministry (MOE) has also set up a phone line for pupils to check their postings.

In previous years, pupils or their parents had to submit hardcopy forms to their primary schools.

Information on postings is then made available at the primary school.

The MOE said on Wednesday that the traditional method of applying would still be available.

To apply online, parents need a personal identification number, which can be found on the top right hand corner of the option forms that pupils will receive together with their PSLE results on Thursday.

They have until Nov 28, 3 pm, to submit their application.

The Secondary One posting results will be released on Dec 19 at 11am, which could be checked via the internet or through the phone at 66912066.

Parents can also go to their child's primary school to get the posting results.

Pupils must report to their posted secondary schools on Dec 21.

More information can be obtained on the MOE website.

Parents can also contact the MOE Customer Service Centre at 68722220.
