The two think tanks will merge on Jan 1, said the IPS on Thursday.
When the merger was announced in October, both said the tie-up would be completed by early 2008.

Under the merger terms, it will remain an autonomous research centre within the LKY School, which is part of the National University of Singapore (NUS).
In its e-newsletter released on Thursday, the Institute's chairman Tommy Koh foresees a stronger future for IPS as it leverages on the reputation and resources of its new partner. The move is a 'momentous step' by IPS, he said.
'We all look forward to a bright future for IPS given the enormous intellectual and infrastructural resources of NUS and LKYSPP that IPS will now be able to take advantage of.'
