Sufiah to 'think about treatment'

MATHS prodigy Sufiah Yusof will reconsider getting 'treatment' from the Professional Islamic Support and Nurture Group on condition that her father is not involved, reported Harian Metro.

This was the promise given by 23-year-old Sufiah, who was discovered working as a call girl in Britain, to United Kingdom Malay Association president Hamidi Abdul Rahman at a recent meeting.

Hamidi, 50, said he and other members of the association had met Sufiah and were trying to convince her to get further 'treatment.'

'We know where Sufiah is staying, but for fear that she may be 'taken away' elsewhere, we are not revealing her location.

'We managed to meet her personally, and she told us she needed time to think and investigate if our association was an independent body or if her family had hired us.

'We told her the association was an independent body which wanted to help her get back to the right path,' he told the daily.

Sufiah won a place at Oxford University when she was just 13 for her remarkable aptitude in Mathematics. Sadly, her troubled teen years caused her to abandon her studies.

Hamidi said they were confident of convincing Sufiah but suspected there were other parties keeping tabs on association members.
