MURDOCH University officially launched its International Study Centre yesterday.

Revamped at a cost of $1 million, the centre along North Bridge Road features a dozen classrooms, a computer lab and a newsroom for journalism students.

A partnership with the Singapore Manufacturing Federation's School of Management, the centre will offer four new degree programmes in addition to its current four.

The courses in Marketing and the Media, Environmental Management, Business Informatics and Information Technology will start in September and January next year.

The university hopes to double the number of students studying at the centre from 900 to 1,800 by the end of next year.
