SINGAPORE Polytechnic introduced a new programme on Tuesday to groom its brightest students into future leaders.

The three-year programme will offer electives and enrichment activities that focus on current affairs and leadership training.

Students will also get involved in community projects, public debates and forums as well as observe MPs at their meet-the-people sessions.

The 40 students who received SP scholarships on Tuesday are the first to be enrolled into the programme which will take in a maximum of 120 students a year.

Apart from SP scholars, the programme is also open to students who are in the top 10 per cent of their course of study, based on their first semester exam results.
