>CYBERCAFES at Taman Rinting and Kota Puteri in Johor Baru are popular spots for students to play truant.

Johor Baru City Council (MBJB) public relations officer Mohammad Firdaus Abdul Hamid said 15 enforcement officers conducted a surprise check on several cybercafes in the area and nabbed the truant students.

He said the students were released after their statements were recorded.

"There were many complaints on cybercafes. Council members have also raised concerns over social ills related to cybercafes."
