Students held in pub raid

BUKIT MERTAJAM, MALAYSIA - Police picked up more than 100 students, some as young as 11, in a raid at a pub-cum-disco here yesterday. Seberang Prai Tengah district police chief Assistant Commissioner Dr Mohd Shah Hussain Shah said the 106 students detained were aged between 11 and 20 years.

Of the total, 26 were girls between 13 and 15.

"Many of the girls admitted to having consumed alcoholic drinks," said Shah.

Also detained in the incident were the outlet's four workers.
