THE Bachelor of Arts or Science in psychology is offered by the Australian Edith Cowan University, through local tertiary institute SMa School of Management.
The part-time degree, which takes two to five years, gives students an understanding of why people behave the way they do.
Over 24 modules, they will learn how people act, feel and think, as well as how they relate to one another and their physical environments.
Students with a prior background in science will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in psychology. Those from a humanities stream will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts.
The biggest difference between the two lies in the type of modules undergraduates will be exempted from, depending on their educational background.
For example, students with a science background would be exempted from certain science- and mathematicsbased modules.
A pool of up to 20 academic staff from Edith Cowan's Perth campus will fly to Singapore to conduct the first few days of seminarstyled lectures.
Tutorials will later be conducted by a team of 20 local practising psychologists appointed by Edith Cowan.
Examination scripts will be sent to Edith Cowan's Perth campus for marking.
Arrangements can also be made for students to study on Edith Cowan's Perth campus for a semester or more, with a corresponding upward adjustment in school fees.
A preview talk will be held at the Spring Singapore Building, Level 7, on Feb 26 from 7pm to 8pm.
