Teens could get hurt online

I REFER to the report, 'More S'pore teens prefer to flirt offline' (my paper, Feb 9). Teenagers may get carried away with their online relationships and not realise that they could be courting trouble and may end up getting hurt.

More should be done to make them aware of the dangers of flirting online with people who may turn out to be sexual predators or conmen.

Parents should play a key role in ensuring that children stay away from dangerous online activities.
