IN A move to raise standards, the Government is rolling out a new certification system for infocomm security professionals, possibly with an eye to make this compulsory for all who want to work in this area.
National Infocomm Security Committee chairman and civil service head Peter Ho on Thursday announced that the Association of Information Security Professionals (Aisp), a joint initiative between technology sector regulator Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore and the Singapore Computer Society, is developing a certification programme for infocomm security professionals.
He explained the need for certification an infocomm security seminar: 'New and ever more challenging threats emerge all the time. Whenever new innovations are rolled out, malware (malicious software) targeting vulnerabilities in these new technologies soon follow'.
