'Perfect example of unconditional love.'

MR NELSON QUAH: 'I refer to the report, 'Kevin's a grad, thanks to mum' (May 20), about Temasek Polytechnic student Kevin Lee who graduated with a diploma in Internet and multimedia development even though he has Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

This disease is characterised by rapid wasting of the muscles and limited mobility. Mr Lee has shown that with courage, determination and hard work, there is nothing one cannot do.

His story is also a perfect example of unconditional love a mother has for a child. As a full-time caregiver, Madam Tay Et is always there to give love, care as well as physical and emotional support to her son.

We should learn from them by not giving up on life in the face of adversity.'
