USING robots to transport and stack goods might sound futuristic, but such tools, known as robot palletiser systems, have become widely used in warehouses and factories around the world.

Students at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) can now get up close with these mechanical arms and conveyors, thanks to a new collaboration between their school and Okura Flexible Automation Systems.

The industrial automation manufacturer has contributed $1.3 million which will be used to set up the ITE-Okura Centre of Technology.
