Blazing a trail in the schools

WEST Spring Secondary School's student council president Bibiana Loh, 15, holding the Asian Youth Games torch aloft during the school leg of the torch relay yesterday.

The relay began at 7am at the Games Village at the Swissotel The Stamford. Minister for Education Dr Ng Eng Hen was the guest of honour at the torch-lighting ceremony.

In all, 45 schools took part in the relay which saw three torches going on three different routes. Yuying Secondary, Yusof Ishak Secondary and Hong Wen School were the first schools on each route. The relay ended at the Singapore Indoor Stadium last night.
