Indonesian businessman donates another $1mil to NUS

By Amelia Tan

INDONESIAN businessman Tahir gave $1million to the National University of Singapore (NUS) business school three years ago, when his only son Jonathan got a place there.

On Sunday, following Jonathan's graduation ceremony, the tycoon pledged another $1million. His $2million gift is among the top five largest that NUS' business school has received from an individual.

In an interview yesterday, the 57-year-old said the donation was his way of thanking NUS for giving Jonathan, 22, a world-class education.
