Chance to study in India

IF YOU are a Singapore citizen and working in a company in Singapore, here's an opportunity for you to further your academic credentials at a top B-school.

What's more, it will be at an institution that is considered to be one of modern India's success stories. The Indian School of Business (ISB), located in Hyderabad, has been included by International Enterprise (IE) Singapore for the International Business Fellowship (IBF) Scholarship.

The scholarship provides 100 per cent study support for Singapore citizens. Under this programme, Singapore-based companies can nominate one or more of their managers for the ISB Management Programme with the IBF Post Graduate scholarship funding the cost of the programme.

ISB is an internationally recognised business school. It was ranked 15 in the 2009 global MBA rankings released by the Financial Times, London, and is located in Hyderabad, one of India's IT hubs.

The business school offers a one year management programme, specifically tailored for working professionals.

The programme is cutting edge, comprehensive and challenging. It is taught by a world-renowned faculty hailing from schools such as Wharton, Kellogg, LBS, Cornell, Duke, Chicago, Tuck, MIT Sloan and UCLA, among others.

ISB has academic associations with the Kellogg School of Management, The Wharton School, and the London Business School to ensure that it offers its students a global and dynamic experience with international best practices in all areas of learning and development.

The business school's executive board reads like a Who's Who of the world's business leaders who have placed great faith in the institution. The School within a decade has almost achieved its vision to become an internationally top-ranked, research-driven, independent management institution that grooms future leaders for India and the world.

This is what Mr Michael Dell, the chairman and CEO of Dell has to say about the school: 'The vision of the Indian School of Business is exciting. I am very happy to be associated with a world-class management institution that is in the business of creating tomorrow's industry leaders.'

The IBF scholarship being offered to Singapore citizens aims to facilitate better understanding of the Indian market by Singaporean professionals and aid them in building strong networks with potential business leaders from Indian businesses.

Mr A.M. Kannan, Director - Admissions and Financial Aid, Indian School of Business, feels the scholarship is a great opportunity for Singaporeans.

'The IBF Scholarship for Singaporeans is a great way to know India, its economy and its markets,' said Mr Kannan.

To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicants need to be Singaporean citizens, be supported and nominated by their respective companies, and work with their respective companies for at least two years upon graduation, in an area related to the market in which they have studied. The scholarship is open for application till Oct 30, 2009.
