Preschool centre has done its best to minimise noise level

I REFER to Ms Chua Su Yin's letter, 'Preschool centre gives neighbours no peace' (Sept 18).

The Little Skool-House International takes great pride and effort in planning our lessons and activities for our children with the objective of making learning exciting, fun and spontaneous.

Our children engage in music and movements, hands-on activities, games as well as interactive and stimulating communication during the day. They also engage in soft and quiet activities, such as art and crafts, show and tell, story book sharing and reading, dramatisation and cookery. Our older children have opportunities to enhance their cognitive and expressive skills through communication sessions between children and teachers, and among their peers.

Understandably, active and happy young children will be expressive in their learning. And we support this. It is important that children enjoy their learning, and at the Little Skool-House, this is the kind of environment we would like to create for our children.

The Little Skool-House At-Fidelio is a fully licensed childcare centre with provisions for all levels of preschool education for kids aged 18 months to six years. Our operating hours are from 7am to 7pm on Monday to Friday, and 7am to 2pm on Saturday. We do recognise the need to strike a balance between creating a good and vibrant learning environment for our children, and managing our children's noise and excitement.

We visited Ms Chua's father earlier this year to share with him what we have done to minimise the noise level, such as closing the windows and not conducting very loud activities in the room that faces Ms Chua's property directly.

We welcome Ms Chua and other readers to visit the Little Skool-House At-Fidelio to learn more about our environment and curriculum.
