CALLING ALL students studying in Singapore - here's your chance to win a trip to Brisbane in December to attend a prestigious visual arts exhibition.

Between now and November 10, log on to www.queensland.com.sg/apt and write about who you think is the most significant artist in Singapore and why, and you could be one of the exclusive invitees at the opening of the 6th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT6).

The widely influential event organised by Queensland Art Gallery - from December 5, 2009 to Apr 5, 2010 - will feature more than 100 artists and filmmakers from over 25 countries across the region.

Two award-winning artists from Singapore - Cheo Chai Hiang and Ho Tzu Nyen ? are among the list of artists for this year.

Cheo?s work for APT6, "Cash converter", comprises a series of text-based sculptures in a range of materials, from stainless steel to neon. The installation will visually reference signage found on the streets of Singapore, and will draw upon Chinese-language slogans, poetry and wordplay.

Local compatriot Ho will produce two films for APT6, "Zarathustra: A Film for Everyone and No One" and "H the happy robot". The former draws on the writings of German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, while the latter is a modern fable about the nature of technology, presented within a specially created cardboard environment.

In addition to attending APT6, the winner will also receive a full-day Brisbane sights tour and a 5-in-1 Attraction Pass to the capital?s most iconic attractions and activities including the spectacular Story Bridge Adventure Climb and Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.

To enter, you must be above 16 years of age as of December 1, 2009 and studying in Singapore.

The winner must be able to travel to Brisbane for the APT6 opening on December 5, 2009. He/she must also submit an article about the exhibition and their experience in Brisbane.

Log on to www.queensland.com.sg/apt for more contest details.
