AN oral sex poster in a professor's office has caused uneasiness among female students.

The poster shows a woman holding an air-filled condom close to her open mouth and accompanied these words: "100% Condoms for oral sex".

Female students have expressed their uneasiness over the poster when entering the office of this associate professor of the Singapore National Institute of Education (NIE).

Disturbed by the poster on the wall, the students of Singapore National Institute of Education (NIE) said they could not concentrate at discussion sessions conducted at the office.

They did not understand why the associate professor, who is in charge of national education, had put up such a poster.

"The poster has got nothing to do with his programmes.

"It is used by the Health Department to promote safe sex and was to be distributed to the prostitutes," the students said.

A reporter from Lianhe Wanbao had gone to check upon receiving a complaint from the students.

When asked if he knew the female students were uneasy with the poster, the professor said he had no comment.

He then returned to his office and closed the door.

Lianhe Wanbao learnt that he has removed the poster.

A spokesperson from NIE said associate professors had posters of various themes such as "no smoking" and "study hard" in their offices.

He said although these posters were not used in the lecture halls, they would be used as supplementary materials in the discussion sessions with students.
