Kindergarten kids are the forgotten group in society

MR RICHARD TAY: 'Children aged five and six in kindergarten do not enjoy any privileges that primary school children are entitled to. Their monthly school fees are high - about $125 - compared to the $5.50 that primary school pupils pay. Kindergarten pupils are charged adult ticket prices in cinemas as they do not have a student card. There are also no free dental check-ups for them. They are given only free eye check-ups in kindergarten. Primary schools provide free dental check-ups at their in-house dental clinics. If the child does not have a child's ez-link card and is taller than 1.2m, he will also be charged adult fares on buses. Kindergarten children are the forgotten group in society.'
