Red Cross flag day

MORE than 7,000 Singapore Red Cross volunteers will take to the streets today to collect donations.

The Red Cross aims to raise $200,000 to fund, among other things, training of its volunteers and helping the residents at its home for the disabled.

The public can also send cheques to the Red Cross House at 15 Penang Lane, Singapore 238486. Cheques should be made payable to the Singapore Red Cross Society with 'Flag Day 2010' indicated on the back.

Volunteer to be YOG shutterbugs

THE Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee wants volunteer photographers aged 17 and above for the Youth Olympic Games in August.

Volunteers will attend workshops on sports photography in April and May; selected participants will be assigned specific roles during the games.

Logo design contest

MERCY Relief is organising a competition to find a logo for its volunteer programme network, Mercy Overseas Volunteer Expeditions (Move).

The winning designer will get to go on an expenses-covered overseas volunteer expedition.

Breast cancer fund-raiser

A FUND-RAISER for the Breast Cancer Foundation, supported by various women's groups and organised by restaurant Bobby's, will be held on March 12 at Bobby's Chijmes outlet.

Tickets cost $60 each. Bobby's will donate 50 cents to the cause for every receipt issued at its Chijmes outlet up until Oct 31. For tickets and details, visit www.bobbys.com.sg
