The cases of two Pioneer Junior College students who leapt to their deaths less than three weeks apart last year were ruled a 'sad coincidence', by State Coroner Victor Yeo, reported local media.
There was no evidence to suggest that the two girls - who were classmates - were close, or that one had been influenced by the other to kill herself as well.
Ho Yi Xin, 17, leapt to her death on July 3 last year. According to the Straits Times, she had been seeing a psychiatrist and taking anti-depressants to cope with stress over her academic performance.
Less than three weeks later, Wong Peek Yian, also 17, did the same. She had failed her mid-year examinations and dreaded having to see the vice-principal about her grades.
