HAMMER it and it won't crack - that's Dr Davy Cheong's corn-flour bulletproof armour. If you want to know how it can withstand hard knocks, find out from Dr Cheong himself today at X-periment!, a three-day educational science - and technology carnival organised by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research and the Science Centre Singapore.
The senior research engineer at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering and member of its Science Outreach team, who co-invented the material with partners from the National University of Singapore, will show how it can be used as protective sports gear and as a medical cast.
Held at Marina Square Central Atrium, X-periment! is part of the ongoing Singapore Science Festival.
Visitors can also enjoy experiments by science entertainer James Soper and take part in games.
