900 students feared buried in southwest China

>BEIJING, CHINA - Nearly 900 students are feared buried and four killed on Monday when a powerful earthquake caused a high school building to collapse in southwestern China, state-run Xinhua news agency said.

The collapse occurred in the city of Dujiangyan in Sichuan province near the quake's epicentre, said the report.

An earlier dispatch from Xinhua had stated flatly that nearly 900 students had been buried, but the second report said that they were "feared buried". --AFP
