China quake death toll rises to 69,019: govt

>BEIJING, CHINA - THE death toll from China's earthquake rose on Monday to 69,019, with another 18,627 missing, the government said.

The new toll, given by government spokesman Lu Guangjin at a press conference in Beijing, marked an increase of three from the day before.

Another 373,573 people sustained injuries in the May 12 quake, China's worst natural disaster in a generation.
