15 dead, 24 hurt in Indian bus plunge: police

>JAMMU, INDIA - AT LEAST 15 people were killed and 24 others hurt, 12 of them seriously, when a bus they were in plunged into a gorge in Indian Kashmir on Wednesday, police said.

The bus, packed with migrant workers, sped off a mountain highway into a 200-metre deep gorge, police officer Showkat Ahmed said.

Bus accidents are common on the 300-kilometre highway linking Jammu, Kashmir's winter capital, with Srinagar, the summer capital. -- AFP
