JAKARTA, INDONESIA - Police, soldiers and ulema arrested 24 alleged prostitutes on Jl. Hayam Wuruk, Jl. Lokasari and Jl. Kali Besar in Taman Sari, West Jakarta, during a raid Wednesday night.

Most of the suspects tried to run from police, including a transvestite on Jl. Kali Besar, who plunged into a river to avoid capture.
