NARATHIWAT, Thailand - Two simultaneous bomb blasts from devices planted by suspected separatist insurgents injured at least 60 people on Tuesday in the restive far south of Thailand, police said.

"There were two bomb attacks, one at a local government office and the other at a teashop," said a police officer in the district of Narathiwat province, which was hit by the twin explosions.

"More than sixty people were injured but no deaths have been reported yet."

The blast at the local government office in Sukhirin district was caused by a car bomb, the police officer said.
