JAKARTA, Indonesia - Two military personnel were killed and three others seriously injured on Monday in Indonesia when the helicopter they were travelling in crashed, an Army spokesman said.

"Two passengers were killed and three injured when our Bolco helicopter crashed at 4pm in South Cianjur of West Java," army spokesman Christian Zebua told AFP.

The incident happened less than a month after a Hercules transport plane crashed as it prepared to land at a military air base in East Java, killing 101 people.

In April, 24 military personnel were killed when their training aircraft crashed into a hangar at an air base in West Java.

"The helicopter was carrying out an aerial survey of the military training site," the spokesman said, adding that it was travelling from an army special forces headquarters.
