Abhisit's 'reality show'
Sat, Jun 13, 2009
Asia News Network

The premier's weekly programme tomorrow will come in a reality-show format, with Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva talking to a military-beat reporter, who will be driving his car, on the problems of the restive South.

In the second part of the programme, Abhisit will visit Krathum Baen Hospital of Samut Sakhon. He will be talking to Public Health Ministry spokesman Taweesilp Visanuyothin and TV host Sujira Arunpipat, taking part as co-hosts. The topics will include the situation of the A (H1N1) influenza in Thailand.

From the back of his bullet-proof car, Abhisit will be answering questions from Wassana Nanuam while a camera records the in-vehicle conversation. The format resembles that of "The Taxi" reality show, the source said.

Wassana is a Bangkok Post reporter and the writer of "Lab Luang Prang" ("Secrecy Deception Camouflage"), with insights into the 2006 coup.

Unlike most of the prime minister's programmes, which are aired live, this week's show will be recorded on Saturday.
