Thu, Jul 30, 2009
The Jakarta Post/Asia News Network

After seven days of interrogation, Arina, allegedly the wife of terror suspect Noordin M Top, was released from police custody on Wednesday.

Arina earlier acknowledged that Noordin's picture resembled her husband, a man she knew as Ade Abdul Halim.

However, Arina chooses to remain under police protection for her safety.

"Arina is still a witness," her lawyer, Asludin Hatjani said Wednesday. "She, her two children and her mother are staying in a house guarded by five policewomen."

The man she knew as Ade and her father, Bahrudin, fled before police raided their homes in Cilacap, Central Java, earlier this month
