Obama leaves for Shanghai

SINGAPORE - US PRESIDENT Barack Obama left Singapore for the Chinese city of Shanghai on Sunday as he continued his first tour of Asia since entering the White House, an AFP reporter said.

Mr Obama will move onto Beijing on Monday for talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao. The two leaders both attended a weekend summit of Asia-Pacific nations in Singapore.

After his four-day visit to China, Mr Obama is due to wrap up his tour in South Korea.
