TAIPEI, Taiwan -- A chrysanthemum flower show will open at Shilin Presidential Residence for the 8th year in Taipei, starting on Saturday Nov. 28.

This year, the flower festival has expanded to nine different sections, with 22 new varieties, 55,000 pots and nearly 100 species of chrysanthemums on display.

The show is a celebration of the upcoming Taipei International Flora Expo to be held next year.

A floral world created with various flower patterns and shapes, such as cascade-shaped, ball-shaped, corridor-shaped and even wall-shaped chrysanthemums, will be shown as well.

The event has been organized by the Parks and Street Lights Department and will continue until Dec.13, with opening hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Programs such as live- music performances, horticultural classes like chrysanthemum decoration techniques and hand puppet theater will also be included during weekends.
