N. Korea fires artillery near sea border for 2nd day

SEOUL - North Korea Thursday fired artillery shells into the sea near its disputed border with South Korea for the second successive day, Yonhap news agency reported.

The communist state fired several shells north of the border near South Korea's Yeonpyeong island at 8:15 am (2315 GMT Wednesday), the agency quoted sources as saying.

Military officials said they were checking the report.
