Korean Air promotes chairman's daughter

KOREAN Air, the country's top air carrier, promoted a total of 45 executives on Wednesday, seating its chairman's youngest daughter Emily Cho as a vice president.

The year-end reshuffling included promotions of one executive vice president, one senior vice president, 16 managing vice presidents and 27 vice presidents.

Cho, 27, the youngest daughter of chairman Cho Yang-ho, was promoted as a vice president for the group's communications team.

The promotion takes place after she was seated as a director a year ago.

Cho, who graduated from the University of Southern California, was hired as an assistant director for the communications team for Korean Air in March 2007. She also previously worked at LG Ad.
