5 troops, 2 civilians injured in Yala bomb attack

YALA, Thailand - Five troops and two villagers were injured when a trooped hit a bomb trap laid by insurgents in this southern border province early Monday.

The explosion occurred at 5:20 am on a road along the railway in Yala's Muang district.

Seven troops on four motorcycles were patrolling the road when they spotted a rope tied at a roadside spot. One of the troops hit a rope and triggered the bomb when he walked to check the spot.
