S'pore's Sembcorp buys 3 water plants in China

>SINGAPORE conglomerate Sembcorp Industries said on Friday it will buy and run three water plants in Shenyang, China.

The investment will be done through a joint venture in which Sembcorp will hold an 80 per cent stake. The Singapore firm will invest 330 million yuan ($48.3 million) in the project.

The plants have a total capacity of 160,000 cubic metres (5.7 million cu ft) per day and will mainly serve industrial customers in the Shenyang Economic & Technological Development Zone.
