STI higher at closing

>SINGAPORE shares rose on Wednesday, after Wall Street closed higher overnight.

The benchmark Straits Times Index ended higher at closing up 38.94 points, or 1.35 per cent, at 2,925.50. Up to 980.2 million shares exchanged hands. Gainers beat losers 313 to 181.
